Wildfire Training Course BC – S100/S185 Certification

Wildfire Training Course BC

The S100/S185 Course is open to the public. You do not need to be seeking employment as a FireMEDIC or under contract to Pacific EMS to take the course. Anyone who requires S100/S185 as part of their employment in British Columbia on the wildfire frontlines is welcome to register attend.

The S-100 is a two-day, 16-hour course with both a classroom and a field component. The S100 is good for one year from date of delivery, after which a refresher must be taken. The most common fire training course in B.C. is the S-100, which is considered as basic fire suppression training for contract crews. The S-100 is required to meet the training requirements under Section 26.3.1 Forestry Operation Fire Fighting of B.C.’s Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. The intended audience for this course is forest industry workers and contract fire fighters, as well as field medics who are under contract to the BC Wildfire Service. The course offered by Pacific EMS also includes the S185 component. The S-185 is intended as a general knowledge course on wildfire safety and entrapment avoidance for local governments, contract crews, and First Nations. Endorsement to instruct this course is provided by the BCWS with the S-100 endorsement.

Pacific EMS is pleased to offer the S100/S185 course for the following 2024 dates.
